There is no magic formula for a good marriage, and I say with certainty that there is no such thing as a perfect marriage. Grandma D. used to say,
"If you never disagree, then one of you is stupid."
But conflict can be tempered with kindness, respect, and empathy. Any long-term relationship demands perseverance, commitment, love, a willingness to say sorry, and a heart that forgives. It means adapting together to the inevitable changes that come with life.
I am thankful for a husband who loves God, who was faithful in providing for our family, who supported me in my career, who loves me and is an all-around kind person.
I am thankful for our three daughters and our two grandchildren. I am thankful for family and friends who have supported us over these five decades and invested in our lives. We have not journeyed alone.

Psalm 112:1-7
Praise the Lord.
Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
who find great delight in his commands.
Their children will be mighty in the land;
The generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in their houses,
and their righteousness endures forever.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
